For your convenience, safety and due to UW’s fire code policy we strongly advise that you use the ungated Q lot for Math Circle pick-up and drop-off. This lot is free with parking pass from 6:15 pm – 6:45 pm and also from 8:15 pm - 8:45 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening. The parking pass is supplied in the registration confirmation email.

Structure of the Activity

The sessions are devoted to solving problems and to learning techniques that can be useful for mathematics competitions like those the CEMC is involved in. The sessions are coordinated by Jen Nelson from the Faculty of Mathematics, with the help of a variety of mathematicians from the University of Waterloo. In order to ensure an understanding of the material being presented, students are strongly encouraged to solve the homework problems. While Math Circles is open to all interested students, we would expect that the students attending come prepared to participate and work on the evening's tasks.

Bad Weather?

In the case of extreme weather conditions, please check here for an announcement regarding whether or not Math Circles has been cancelled for the evening.
